21 Nights: The Prince Opus
This Opus offers a unique insight into the lifestyle of the legendary performer. Featuring hundreds of beautiful images displayed on an epic scale, the 21 Nights Opus explores Prince's intimate world during his monumental reign at the O2 Arena in London, 2007.
These unique images were shot by renowned photographer Randee St. Nicholas, who was given rare access to Prince's life to capture an uncompromising and unparalleled view of the artist.
In Randee's own words:
"Those who have spent the most time with him are both frustrated and inspired. To know him is to know that you probably will never really know him and to question that is a waste of time... wasting time is something one should never do... and something Prince holds in high disregard. He is passionate and funny and smarter than any of you will probably ever believe... he stretches everyone around him and I'm not sure he even understands why... and those who get out without trying to understand soar and grow creatively in a way they probably could not find on their own... it is not a manipulation for control's sake as it is often judged... it is a way of being... a way of constantly stirring things up... a conduit to achieve creative exhaustion... so that you just do whatever it is you do, free of the limits of how you think you should do it... you are simply forced to trust yourself and to trust him... and in the end it is a gift, one that you have worked very hard for and there is great satisfaction in that. About Randee St. Nicholas
Randee St. Nicholas is an artist/photographer who began her commercial career in the music industry photographing such iconic artists as Prince, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Chris Cornell, Jakob Dylan, Dwight Yoakum, Shelby Lynn, Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, The Bee Gees, Melissa Ethridge, and BuckCherry. Her reputation for mixing glamour with edge was also sought after in the entertainment world, giving her the opportunity to photograph celebrities, as well. Her extensive client list includes Charlize Theron, Kim Basinger, Drew Barrymore, Howard Stern, Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage, Gabriel Byrne, Martha Stewart and countless others. Her work has been seen in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Arena, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Giant, Vibe, and Flaunt, to name a few. Her success in photography also led her to a directing career beginning with music videos and branching out into commercials. To date, she has directed some 160 music videos, dozens of commercials and is in preproduction on her first feature film to shoot early next year.
